FOUNDLING MUSEUM, Bloomsbury Square, WC1
In a leafy, secluded square at the heart of Bloomsbury, the award winning Foundling Museum offers a flexible and unique venue. The event spaces offer original eighteenth century interiors, adorned with paintings from contemporary masters including Hogarth, Gainsborough and Reynolds, which flow harmoniously into cool, airy, contemporary galleries.
Designed with creative ambition, sensitive to its history and constructed to exacting contemporary standards, the Museum accommodates receptions for up to 200 guests. The Museum is arranged over four floors. Receptions can occupy the entire Museum, allowing guests to enjoy all of its varied galleries and are normally held over a three hour period occupying the contemporary and historic spaces in the Museum. Guests are offered a drink on arrival and are able to wander through the ground floor Coram's Children Gallery giving the visitors an insight into the fascinating history of the Foundling Hospital.
Dinners for up to 100 guests can be held in the impressive, spacious Picture Gallery and more intimate dinners, for up to 30 guests, in the spectacular, historic Court Room. Pre dinner receptions can occupy the entire Museum, or more intimately in the Court Room. A long table for up to 50 guests may also occupy the Picture Gallery.
Weddings - The Foundling Museum is licensed to perform weddings and civil ceremonies in the Court Room and Picture Gallery. The romantic setting of the venue spills over into the sentiment of the occasion.
